Red Light Therapy Bed (LLLT – Low Level Light Therapy or PBMT – Photobiomodulation Therapy), Infrared Sauna, and Renu Cold Plunge
Before undergoing Red Light Therapy, Infrared Sauna, or Renu Cold Plunge, please read the following important information and guidelines:
Safety Precautions
Red Light Therapy:
- Protective eyewear during sessions is optional based on light sensitivity. Eye protection is available for your session if desired.
- Ensure your skin is clean and free from deodorants, makeup, fragrances, oils, lotions, and jewelry before the session.
- Be aware that certain medications or cosmetics might increase your skin’s sensitivity to Red Light Therapy.
- It’s recommended to follow a red light therapy schedule of 1-3 days per week for 4-12 weeks for optimal results.
- Post-session, take a moment before getting up to prevent dizziness.
Infrared Sauna:
- Stay hydrated before, during, and after your sauna session to prevent dehydration.
- Avoid heavy meals or alcohol before using the sauna.
- Limit sessions to 10-20 minutes, especially for beginners, and gradually increase time as your body adapts.
- Use a towel to sit on and to wipe off excess sweat to maintain cleanliness and prevent overheating.
- If you feel dizzy, lightheaded, or unwell at any time, exit the sauna immediately and inform a staff member.
Renu Cold Plunge:
- Ensure you have no open wounds or skin conditions that might be aggravated by cold water exposure.
- Cold plunges are not recommended for individuals with cardiovascular conditions, Raynaud’s disease, or hypersensitivity to cold.
- Limit your initial exposure to cold water to 1-3 minutes, gradually increasing time based on comfort and tolerance.
- Use proper breathing techniques to help regulate your body’s response to the cold.
- If you experience severe discomfort, numbness, or tingling, exit the cold plunge immediately and inform a staff member.
Pre/Post Treatment Instructions
Red Light Therapy:
- Drink at least 8 oz. of water before and after sessions.
- Maintain healthy eating habits and limit alcohol consumption and smoking before
therapy sessions.
Infrared Sauna:
- Drink plenty of water before entering and have a cool-down period after your session.
- Avoid vigorous activities immediately following a sauna session to allow your body to rehydrate and cool down.
Renu Cold Plunge:
- Warm up your body with light exercise or a warm shower before entering the cold plunge.
- Gradually warm up after the plunge and avoid direct high heat exposure for at least 30 minutes.
Risks and Side Effects
Red Light Therapy:
- Non-invasive and does not produce thermal damage or pain.
- Report any unusual sensations or problems to the facility immediately.
- Not eligible if you have or have had conditions like Photophobia, Porphyria, Lupus Erythematosus, Exogenous Eczema, Eye Disease/Retinal Abnormalities, Epilepsy, Seizures, Hypomelanism (albinism), Heart Trouble/Pacemaker, or Pregnancy.
Infrared Sauna:
- Risks include dehydration, overheating, dizziness, or fainting.
- Individuals with cardiovascular conditions, respiratory issues, or who are pregnant should consult a physician before use.
Renu Cold Plunge:
- Risks include cold shock response, hyperventilation, and potential aggravation of certain medical conditions.
- Not recommended for individuals with severe cardiovascular conditions, uncontrolled high blood pressure, or cold intolerance.
Medications
- Notify the facility if you have consumed any photosensitive medications, herbs, or
substances in the last 7 days that may affect your ability to safely undergo these
treatments.
Financial Policy
- Payment is required for all services rendered.
- No refunds for treatments/services already received.
- A “no show fee” equal to the session price applies unless a 24-hour notice of cancellation is provided.
- All sales are final.
